Gypsy Caravan Building & Restoration

From his Somerset farm Martyn, with help from a circle of skilled friends, builds and restores a variety of horse drawn vehicles once commonplace on the roads and lanes across the country.
The brightly coloured and intricately decorated gypsy vardos and functional, but equally decorative, four wheel trolleys are today more often found in museums and private collections. Some are still used for their original purpose, as homes to travelling people still holding on to the old way of life.
Around the country there are a handful of people building new vardos and restoring original wagons. This site is simply a record of one individuals modest efforts to help keep these traditions alive.
